PROPOSED DECISIONS OF EXECUTIVE COUNCILLORS ON MATTERS WITHIN THEIR PORTFOLIO

These decisions will be taken on or after 6th November 2004 (unless a different date is shown) and will be published in a subsequent Weekly List. The report sent to the decision maker is attached. Exempt (private) information is sent only to the decision maker. The four-character codes are cross-references to the Executive Forward Plan.

PAPER 1
E496 Strategy for Horse Riding (Cllr Sir Elgar Jenkins OBE)

The Executive Member is asked to agree that for a trial period of 12 months, equestrian access will be permitted on certain sections of pedestrian/cycle paths subject to confirmation of landowner’s approval, erection of appropriate signage and circulation of a code of conduct.  During the trial, equestrian usage of these paths will be monitored.

PAPER 2
E663 Transfer of Employment Development Service (Cllrs Francine Haeberling and Colin Darracott)

The Executive Members are asked to agree to the transfer of the Employment Development Service, its management, functions, staff and budget, into the Economic Development Service (Corporate Services).

REVIEW FINDINGS OF OVERVIEW AND SCRUTINY PANELS BEING PASSED TO EXECUTIVE MEMBERS FOR THEIR INITIAL RESPONSE WITHIN 6 WEEKS EXPLAINING FOR EACH RECOMMENDATION WHETHER THEY ACCEPT, REJECT OR DEFER CONSIDERATION UNTIL FURTHER INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE

Executive members' responses to the proposals in these papers should be made before 18th December 2004 and will be published in a subsequent Weekly List.

The Executive member is asked to consider the Panel’s report and to respond to each of the Panel’s recommendations within 6 weeks.

DECISIONS TAKEN BY THE COUNCIL EXECUTIVE

The Council Executive last met on Wednesday 6th October. The Minutes were published in Weekly List 2004/41A.

The Council Executive will next meet on Wednesday 3rd November. The Agenda has been published and may be viewed in due course on the Council's website.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS

Welton Road, Radstock

Removal of dangerous trees is planned on or near the road from 2nd November and is anticipated to last for 1 day.  During this period it will be necessary on occasions to close the road.

 

Claverton Down Road and Copseland, Bath

Replacement of a street lighting column is planned on or near the road from 4th November and is anticipated to last for 1 day.  During this period it will be necessary on occasions to close the road its junction with Copseland to its junction with Oakley. Traffic will be allowed to pass via Copseland during the closure only.

 

Camden Road, Bath

Carriageway pavement reconstruction and surfacing works are planned on or near the road from 29th October and are anticipated to last for 2 weeks.  During this period it will be necessary on occasions to close the road from its junction with St Stephen’s Road to its junction with Gay’s Hill.  The weight restrictions usually in place on London Road and Lansdown Road will be suspended during certain times to allow an alternative route during the closure only.

 

Snow Hill, Bath

Carriageway pavement reconstruction and surfacing works are planned on or near the road from 29th October and are anticipated to last for 2 weeks.  During this period it will be necessary on occasions to close the road from its junction with Kensington Gardens to its junction with Chilton Road.  The weight restrictions usually in place on London Road and Lansdown Road will be suspended during certain times to allow an alternative route during the closure only.

 

Bailbrook Lane, Batheaston

Sewer inspection and repair works are planned on or near the road from 8th November and are anticipated to last for 1 day.  During this period it will be necessary on occasions to close the road from its junction with London Road West for a distance of 180 metres in a north westerly direction. The weight restriction usually in place on Gloucester Road will be suspended during certain times to allow an alternative route during the closure only.

 

Sydney Place, Bath

Major road reconstruction works are planned on or near the road from 11th November and are anticipated to last for 3 weeks.  During this period it will be necessary on occasions to close the road from its junction with A36 Darlington Street in an easterly direction for a distance of 105 metres.

 

Connection Road, Batheaston

Sewerage improvement works are planned on or near the road from 8th November and are anticipated to last for 2 weeks.  During this period it will be necessary on occasions to close the road.
